Early morning fire damages East Providence home

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A Rhode Island family has been displaced from their home by an early morning fire.

Authorities say firefighters responded to the East Providence home at about 2 a.m. Friday when temperatures were in the teens.

Investigators say the fire caused about $10,000 worth of damage and the home is uninhabitable.

There were no reports of injuries and the cause remains under investigation.
