Section of Interstate 95 south in Providence reopened after ’emergency repairs’

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation on Thursday reopened a ramp on Interstate 95 south in Providence after being closed for “emergency repairs.”

The department closed 95 south at exit 37, downtown Memorial Boulevard, Atwells Avenue, and Route 6 westbound around noon. The closure lasted for a few hours.

The department said the closure was for “emergency repairs.”

No further information was initially released.
