Driver hurt in Hopkinton crash that damaged pole, took down wires

HOPKINTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A crash into a utility pole in Hopkinton caused a temporary power outage early Saturday.
Authorities said a car struck a pole on Main Street in Ashaway at about 3:30 a.m. and took down wires.

The driver, lone occupant of the car, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Main Street between the post office and River Road was closed for hours. Drivers were asked to find alternate routes.
