West Warwick educator invited to the White House

WEST WARWICK (WLNE) — A West Warwick educator’s work to improve student experience has been recognized by the White House.

West Warwick Public Schools Superintendent Karen Tarasevich has been invited to Washington, D.C. to speak about education investments that have impacted students, teachers and families.

The meeting will be part of the Biden Administration’s Communities in Action series.

It will be the second time that Tarasevich has attended the White House.

Her first visit was in 2014 for the district’s use of technology to help families utilize computers at home.

“This invitation is a reflection of the hard work that everyone in the district is putting in,” said Tarasevich. “Our teachers, staff, students, families and community members work closely together to create opportunities that improve people’s everyday lives. We’ll discuss those efforts and look for new and innovative ways to continue that mission.”
