Autumnfest to grant one student $1000 scholarship

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Autumnfest Steering Committee is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who displays appreciation for the community through volunteer work.
Applications are now open for this fifth year scholarship, which commemorates Nancy Phillips, a longstanding Autumnfest committee member for over 30 years.
One graduating senior from Woonsocket Highschool, Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center, Mount Saint Charles Academy, or Beacon Charter High School for the Arts is eligible for the scholarship.
Students will write an essay in 500 words or less how they have made a difference in their community, including any community involvement or activities.
Applicants can download an application on the Autumnfest website.
Essays and applications must be completed by May 1, 2024 at 2:00 P.M., and can either be e-mailed to Secretary Lee Forcier (secretary@autumnfest.org) or mailed in to Autumnfest, P.O. Box 574, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
