Woonsocket man sentenced to 16 years for sexual assault

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man will serve 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting his neighbor in 2020.
David Molitor, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree sexual assault and was sentenced to 30 years in Providence County Superior Court on Jan. 3.
He will serve 16 years in the ACI with a 14-year suspended sentence and 30 years of probation.
Molitor was also issued a no-contact order with the victim and must register as a sex offender upon release.
“While today’s sentencing cannot undo the traumatic harm the defendant caused the victim in this case, I hope this just and lengthy prison sentence will bring some measure of comfort to her loved ones,” said Attorney General Peter F. Neronha.
Molitor sexually assaulted his neighbor on February 20, 2020 while threatening her with a knife and a BB gun.
