Red Cross opens shelters for those impacted by flooding
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Residents impacted by flood events from last night’s storm now have a couple of places to get help.
The American Red Cross said Wednesday afternoon that two shelters have been opened in Rhode Island following significant flooding across the state.
The shelters are located at the Civic Center on Factory Street in West Warwick and the Rainone Gym on Mill Street in Johnston.
The Red Cross says it is working closely with emergency management and government officials in the impacted areas.
Officials say those evacuating to a Red Cross shelter should bring essential items for each member of their family, including emergency medications, extra clothing and chargers for any electronic devices.
