Suspect in Dartmouth murder being held without bail

Dartmouth Murder Suspect Vosot

NEW BEDFORD, M.A. (WLNE) – Franklin Paredes, 23 of New Bedford was arraigned in court today after being charged with a murder in Dartmouth last week.

Paredes is accused of shooting and killing 27-year-old, Jose Cornejo on Horseneck Road last Tuesday.

Defense Attorney, Dana Sargent said, “It’s very frustrating for all families involved in the situation. They know very little. He’s being held. The statement from the police that he was seen with the victim therefore he must be guilty of murder is very dissatisfying to the family as it should be. And if there is any true evidence it should be shown. And if there’s not, this case should be dismissed.”

Paredes is currently being held without bail.
