Reed to tour flood damage across Rhode Island ahead of next storm

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Sen. Jack Reed will tour Rhode Island communities with flood damage on Friday.
Reed will meet with Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency officials and community leaders to assess the recent damage caused by flooding this week.
He will speak in West Warwick near the damaged bridge along washed out Greenbush Road and Nottingham Drive at 1 p.m.
Southern New England will see its third storm in less than a week starting Friday night.
Reed said the first priority ahead of the next storm is ensuring public safety, as more flooding and power outages are possible.
Reed is also working to deliver food mitigation assistance ahead of more potential flooding. He helped include $12 billion for flood mitigation efforts as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law.
The funding would also be used to improve water quality, land preservation, and habitat restoration.
