Johnston police searching for Boston man suspected of shooting a man in the leg Friday morning

JOHNSTON, RI (WLNE) – Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man with a gunshot wound to his leg Friday morning.
Johnston police say they responded to 995 Atwood Ave. around midnight on Friday for a shooting.
When crews arrived on scene the victim said Mark Ashe, 25, of Boston, was the man who shot him.
Ashe is described by police as a white man, 5’5″ tall, and weighs around 130 pounds with a tattoo on his neck
Ashe was last seen in the passenger seat of a silver four door Subaru Cross-Over SUV, with a Massachusetts license plate. Police couldn’t identify the number.
Police say Ashe has an extensive criminal history. They added that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Johnston police encourage anyone who may know where Ashe is or where he may have been to call Detectives at 401-231-8100.
The victim was transported to RI hospital and his condition is stable, according to police.
