Warwick elementary school briefly locked down Thursday

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) —  A Warwick elementary school was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon as Police searched for suspects fleeing a nearby traffic stop. 

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Warwick Police announced they were searching for a group of individuals who fled from a motor vehicle after a short pursuit in the area of Hoxsie Elementary School. 

Police said the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution, and there was no impact or danger to the students at the school.

A male juvenile was arrested following this incident, and is facing charges of Operating Without a License, Operating Without Consent of the Owner and Reckless and Eluding, according to Police.
