Dont’a Hightower opts out of 2020 Patriots season

5 Patriots in total opting out for the season so far

(WLNE) -According to ESPN,  New England Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower is opting out of the 2020 season.

This was the final season on Hightower’s contract, with a base salary of $8 million, and will now toll to the 2021 season.

ESPN sources also say the running back, Brandon Bolden is also planning on opting out, making a total of 5 players.

Offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, Lineman Najee Toran, and fullback Danny Vitale also decided to opt-out of the season.

The season is scheduled to start in September.
