New England storm washes out trails, damages bridges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island officials have closed multiple trails and wildlife refuges due to storm damage.

The Department of Environmental Management shared on social media that the Arcadia Management Area’s vehicular Frosty Hollow Bridge is closed to the public due to storm damage until further notice.

The footbridges at Breakheart Pond and Roaring Brook are also closed.

The Audubon Society shared on their website that flooding from last week’s storm has washed out the bridge and trail system at Parker Woodland Wildlife Refuge and will remain closed.

Caratunk Wildlife Refuge and Ruecker Wildlife Refuge are also closed until further notice.
