Providence man found guilty of assault, firearms charges in convenience store robbery

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that Providence man has been found guilty of felony assault and firearms charges for shooting an 18-year-old convenience store clerk.
21-year-old Emmanuel Narcisse was found guilty of one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of carrying a pistol without a license.
Narcisse was accused of shooting the victim in the leg during an altercation at GI Joe’s Convenience Store on Smith Street in October 2020.
The victim told responding officers that two individuals entered the store and one left without paying for a beverage, which caused him to confront the three.
Neronha said that two more individuals joined the fight, with one shooting the clerk in the leg.
Surveillance footage taken from the scene as well as witness testimony led to Narcisse’s arrest in December 2020.
Narcisse is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions pending a sentencing hearing to be scheduled.
