Several students may have ‘ingested controlled substance’ at Blackstone middle school
BLACKSTONE, Mass. (WLNE) — The superintendent of the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District said that a “medical issue” at Frederick W. Hartnett Middle School resulted in first responders being called.
Superintendent Jason DeFalco said that staff were made aware that several students “may have ingested controlled substances.”
“Student safety is our top priority so after an initial evaluation, we followed standard emergency response protocols, including contacting the parents and first responders,” he said. “To my knowledge, the affected students are safe and in the care of their parents or appropriate medical providers.”
DeFalco added that he could not divulge confidential student information.
