Lincoln Police respond to explosion at a gas station

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) – Lincoln Police say there was an explosion at the Sunoco Gas Station shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say an employee with GEM Plumbing and Heating was carrying an acetylene tank, used for plumbing and welding, in the back of a company car.
An officer who was at a detail nearby was able to quickly put out the fire.
The employee was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
