Bomb threat sent to Block Island Ferry deemed not credible

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — A bomb threat was made against the a Block Island Ferry Friday which was determined by Narragansett police to be not credible.

The threat was received at approximately 7:20 a.m. and the ferry was unoccupied at this time.

Narragansett police and mutual aid partners thoroughly swept the ferry with K-9 assistance and no suspicious items were located.

Police remained on the scene to ensure passenger safety out of an abundance of caution and the scene was cleared by 9 a.m.

No charges will be filed.
