McKee reminds public of safety tips and warming center locations ahead of cold snap
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee is reminding Rhode Islanders of safety tips and that warming centers will be open ahead of the weekend’s cold snap.
McKee said that light snow and sub-zero wind chills are expected Friday and Saturday night, which can cause hypothermia and frostbite and contribute to events like household fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.

In addition, McKee said that additional emergency pop-up shelters will be open alongside the state’s existing shelter network.
