Police seize cocaine, firearms from New Bedford apartment

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said that detectives seized narcotics and weapons from an apartment on Mosher Street.

The department said that 28-year-old Deshawn Hunt was charged with charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams, illegal possession of two firearms and a large capacity magazine, and possession of a Class B substance. \

An investigation into a cocaine distribution network resulted in a search warrant being issued for Hunt’s apartment.

A search of the apartment allegedly found over 108 grams of cocaine, four Percocet tablets, drug dealing materials, $2,015, and two 9 mm handguns.

The department said that Hunt was previously been convicted of illegally possessing a firearm stemming from an incident in 2017.
