Pawtucket police say they have custody of suspect in Central Avenue shooting

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pawtucket Police Department said it has a suspect in Friday night’s shooting on Central and Kenyon Avenue is in custody.

Det. Sgt. Christopher LeFort said that police responded to reports of gunshots around 8 p.m. and found a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, and a gray colored SUV was observed fleeing the area.

LeFort said the incident appeared to be domestic and this led to a person of interest being taken into custody.

He added that the investigation is ongoing.
