Woonsocket man charged with sexual assault after Warwick police investigation

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man has been charged with multiple counts of second-degree sexual assault resulting from his arrest on June 15, 2023.

Everett Mello, Jr., 52, has been charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of simple assault by the Office of the Attorney General of Rhode Island.

Mello allegedly sexually assaulted at 16-year-old victim on or about May 9, 2023 according to an investigation by the Warwick Police Department.

Mello will be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Jan. 26.
