Man charged with first-degree child molestation

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha announced today that a man has been charged with first-degree child molestation and another count of sexual assault.

According to the report, Oliviero Pereira, 35, of Pawtucket acted on these allegations between Dec. 2017 and April 2023.

The Pawtucket and East Providence Police departments worked together to conduct the investigation.

On Jan. 19, 2024, the Providence Grand Jury charged Pereira with two counts of first-degree child molestation, and one count of first-degree sexual assault.

Pereira will appear in court on Feb. 7, 2024.
