Police confirmed shots were fired on Broad Street in Providence Wednesday afternoon (WLNE)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police said multiple shots were fired in broad daylight just off Broad Street in Providence this afternoon.

Major David Lapatin with Providence Police said no one was injured in the incident on Wednesday.

Laptain told ABC 6 the multiple shots fired were a result of an argument that broke out on Broad Street.

Officers responding to the scene said one bullet hit a car, causing a minor accident on the road, which was briefly closed off to traffic.

Police said no one has been arrested, but they are still investigating the incident.
