Brockton man charged with trafficking fentanyl

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins said a man was arrested for allegedly possessing and trafficking fentanyl.
28-year-old Jonathan Pires, of Brockton, was charged with trafficking 10 grams of fentanyl and possession of a Class B substance.
Jenkins said that on Jan. 23 East Bridgewater Police officers serving as members of the FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force, Brockton Police officers, and an FBI SWAT team executed a search warrant on Court Street in Brockton.
The warrant came after a “weeks-long” investigation and found 10 total grams of fentanyl, two amphetamine pills, and two digital scales.
Pires was arrested on-scene “without incident” and was held after his arraignment pending a dangerousness hearing.
