State House leaders announce ‘Working Families’ agenda

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — State Legislators came together Tuesday to announce their Working Families Agenda, a top priority for the 2024 legislative session.

The Working Families Agenda includes a set of proposals that would expand the following:

  • Paid family leave
  • Funding of public transportation
  • Aid in affordable housing
  • Lower the cost of prescription drugs
  • Provide school meals for children
  • Promote transparency in the police department
