Gano Street in Providence closed to heavy vehicles

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Providence said that Gano Street will be closed to all vehicles.

Spokesperson Josh Estrella said that the closure will be in place starting at 7 a.m. on Feb. 3.

“Local traffic can use E George Street to Ives Street and Power Street to access neighborhood streets or reconnect to Interstate 195 for highway access,” Estrella said. “No parking will be posted on both sides of Ives Street and Power Street until further notice.”

Vehicles weighing over five tons are directed to use Pitman Street to Governor Street to Power Street to reconnect to I-195.

Parking on Governor Street is also limited on one side.
