Stop lights broken at 5-way intersection in Cranston
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Another traffic nightmare in Rhode Island, as a five-way stop in Cranston finds all its stoplights out.
The five way intersection at Rolfe Square, Park Avenue, and Pontiac Avenue has been without working stoplights for nearly two weeks, leading to confusion for commuters.
The Mayor’s office said the entire control unit for the lights at the intersection needs replacing.
Equipment is on order but was a victim of supply chain shipment delays, and installation is expected to occur next week.
The five-way intersection has actually been turned into a four-way with one of the roads closed off.
Some commuters seem to be having trouble with the change, and local businesses said that not having anyone to direct the traffic has exacerbated the issue.
