PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence Animal Control Center is looking for information on several cats found thrown from a car Saturday.

According to a Facebook post, the organization received a call around 12:30 p.m. Saturday regarding a group of found cats, and an Animal Control officer was dispatched to Dedham Street in Providence to pick them up.

Witnesses on scene informed the officer that they observed a bag being thrown from a car in front of them. The contents of the bag were unclear.

Animal Control said the witness then recovered the bag and opened it to find 6 cats, 2 adults and 4 kittens, inside.

The witness told Animal Control they were focused on moving the animals to a safe place and was unable to obtain a license plate number for the vehicle the animals were thrown from.
