FEMA approves $2M for Rhode Islanders affected by September storms
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency said that nearly $2 million in disaster assistance funds have been allocated for those affected by the September storms.
FEMA said $1,929,949 have been provided to the agency and the Small Business Association for those affected by the severe storms, flooding, and tornado winds that occurred from Sept. 10 to Sept. 13.
Homeowners and renters in Providence County whose homes and property were damaged by the storms have until March 7 to apply for assistance.
FEMA added that there are two Disaster Recovery Centers operating from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
