State to hold oversight hearing on Washington Bridge closure

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The House and Senate oversight committees have scheduled a hearing on the closure of the Washington Bridge for Feb. 12.

The notice on the hearing said it will discuss the timeline and decision making on the closure as well as next steps.

Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti, as well as Senior Deputy Chief of Staff for Gov. Dan McKee Joseph Almond and a representative of VHB Engineering will be in attendance.
