Report: Bullying, harassment rampant at Alviti-led RIDOT

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Bully, harassment and fears of retaliation are commonplace at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), according to a recent report.

The Boston Globe reported that union workers are describing a toxic work environment with low morale as the Washington Bridge commuter crisis unfolds.

In response to this report, RIDOT Director Peter Alviti says that the organization is “laser-focused” on the work at hand to get the Washington Bridge back to safe traveling condition.
