Fire breaks out at multi-family home in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET, R.I (WLNE) – A fire broke out in a multi-family home on School Street in Pawtucket early Saturday morning.
Pawtucket Fire Battalion Chief David Cairraro said that firefighters arrived on scene around 4:30 a.m., and all occupants in the home were able to escape on their own.
According to Red Cross, a woman and her two daughters escaped from the third floor, but her animals, three cats, a rabbit and several lizards, did not survive the fire.
Cairraro said that two firefighters were injured in battling the blaze. One had an ankle injury and the other, a leg injury. Both firefighters were taken to hospitals, and have since been released.
The cause of this fire is undetermined and under investigation.
