RIDEM, Central Falls Animal Control recover alligator, snapping turtles after owner is bitten

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — The Friends of Central Falls Animals and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management recovered an alligator and two snapping turtles from a home after reports of the owner being bitten.
In a social media post an animal control officer said that RIDEM removed the alligator after the report of it biting the owner.
Animal control then removed two alligator snapping turtles from the home, as their enclosure was too small and dirty for the animals.
Friends of Central Falls Animals added that residents should be wary of vendors and pet stores that sell exotic animals, and that state law said turtles must be a minimum of four inches long in order to be kept legally.
