NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Firefighters battled a fire on Kentland Avenue in North Providence Sunday.

Fire Chief Tony Cardoso said there was a fully involved car fire that extended to the house, but the fire stayed outside the house and the damage was “mostly cosmetic.”

He added that the family that lived in the house was able to get out safely and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still unknown other than that the car combusted. The incident is under investigation.
