A violent weekend in Providence with multiple stabbings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Incidents of violence hit Providence over the weekend, with police responding to multiple stabbings.

Two stabbings occurred on Friday night, both of them involving teenagers.

One 15-year-old was stabbed under his ribs, but is expected to recover, with a 17-year-old arrested in the incident.

At the intersection of Academy Avenue and Chalkstone Avenue, a second stabbing incident occurred with a 17-year-old being stabbed in the back.

The victim is also expected to recover.
