Looking for family fun this February vacation?

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — February Vacation kicked off this past weekend in New England. If you’re stumped on what to do with the family, Rhode Island and surrounding areas offer a variety of family-friendly events this week.
Providence Children’s Museum
PCM announced the extension of its hours for February break. The Children’s Museum will offer an extensive schedule of activities this week featuring guests like Rock-A-Baby and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Karyn Parsons.

Winterfest Story Time at The Breakers
Winterfest Story Time at The Breakers Stable & Carriage House returns Feb. 19 – 23 to celebrate February vacation. Families can listen to stories, participate in crafting, and view the historic carriages on display.

Patriot Place Vacation
Patriot Place will feature family-friendly activities and giveaways for Feb. school vacation week from Feb. 17 – 24. Throughout the week, several venues will feature entertainment. Some of these events include live music, dancing, BINGO, comedy, and more.

Wild Winter Nature Exploration at the Audubon Society
The Audubon society welcomes adventurous explorers to come and meet owls, hawks, and turtles. There will also be a craft table each day this week alongside a nature story. Other events include a trail walk, turtle races, owl pellet dissection, and more.
Family programs are offered in Bristol and Smithfield, RI, and Seekonk, Mass.

The Whaling Museum
To celebrate vacation as well as Black History Month, the New Bedford’s Whaling Museum invites families to join them in activities, hands-on experiences, and insightful explorations into the history of Captain Paul Cuffe.
