Update: East Providence stabbing suspect held without bail

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Crescent Avenue stabbing suspect appeared in court Monday.

Valdini Correia, 25, is accused of stabbing someone in the head on Friday night.

The department said a call came in around 7 p.m. for a stabbing on Crescent Avenue.

A second call then came in from the Cumberland Farms on Pawtucket Avenue and Wampanoag Trail, where the victim was found.

He is facing charges of domestic burglary, assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

The incident involved a fight about an ex-girlfriend, according to police.

The victim is in critical condition.

Correia was held without bail.
