Pawtucket man accused in deadly East Providence crash to face judge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Pawtucket man who is accused in a deadly East Providence crash is expected in court Wednesday.

Chaz Gagnon, 20, is facing several charges including driving to endanger with death resulting and obstructing an officer in execution of justice.

The crash occurred in December of 2023 and resulted in the death of Gagnon’s passenger, 20-year-old Ariana Roody.

Before the crash occurred, police say they had been called on a report of a suspicious vehicle being driven by Gagnon.

He allegedly gave police a fake name before speeding away.

Gagnon will appear at the Licht Judicial Complex Wednesday for a disposition hearing and violation of bail.
