U.S. Secretary of Education joins McKee to speak on technical and career-oriented programs

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The U.S. Secretary of Education visited Rhode Island Wednesday, meeting with Governor Dan McKee to discuss the need for more technical and career-oriented education programs.

Secretary Miguel Cardona and McKee toured the CTE program at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Knight Campus in Warwick.

Cardona said that investing in the state’s students will also help the state’s overall economy.

“We talk about ‘invest in America,’ well you’re investing here in Rhode Island to make sure that the students here and the adults have the best opportunity for success,” said Cardona.
