Local food truck holds fundraiser for Shiloh Church
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A local food truck owner is having a fundraiser this weekend at the Shiloh Gospel Temple, in response to the fires that occurred on Feb. 11.
The church has a predominantly black congregation, which pushed advocates to ask for the incident to be investigated as a possible hate crime.
As the investigation continues, the church showed their resilience and returned to congregation this past weekend.
Local food truck owner, Dwayne Tisdale, is showing his support to the community by hosting a fundraiser at the church.
D’s BBQ and Smokehouse food truck will be selling dinner plates at the Shiloh Gospel Temple this weekend to help Pastor Perry raise money for the damages sustained during the attack.
The Fundraiser will take place from Saturday, Feb. 24 from 2:00 p.m. until sold out, and Sunday, Feb. 25 from 12:00 p.m. until sold out.
Dinners will be 20$ each with half the proceeds going to the church. They will also be accepting other donations.
