New Bedford man expected in court for illegal firearms charges

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford man will appear in court Friday for illegal firearms charges.

Alexander Reese, 26, was arrested January 17 after his vehicle was searched by detectives.

The search turned up a loaded 9mm handgun, leading to a search of his home.

The home search yielded an AR-15 rifle and several rounds of ammunition.

Reese is being held without bail, and is a convicted felon and level two sex offender who was on probation at the time of the arrest.
