LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — A teacher from Davies Career and Technical High School resigned after being placed on administrative leave for allegations of inappropriate conduct of a student.

According to Superintendent Mary Watkins, Kristin Cassarino was placed on administrative leave after receiving reports from Rhode Island State Police pertaining to allegations of inappropriate conduct of a student.

Several days later, the superintendent announced to the Davies Community that Cassarino resigned from her position.

In the letter, she noted that the families of students were contacted separately regarding student support and plans of teaching moving forward.

Supt. Watkins informed the community that she notified the Rhode Island Department of Education and are currently collaborating with the Department of Children, Youth & Families on further investigating.

This is not the first time the school has seen something of this nature. Back in 2013, another Davie’s Tech. teacher, David Sousa, was accused of inappropriately interacting with two teenaged girls.
