PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A number of organizations led a rally and march outside the Rhode Island State House calling for an end to the continuing conflict in Gaza.

Organizers included the Palestinian Feminist Collective, the Islamic Center of Rhode Island, R.I. Calls for Palestine, and Jewish Voice for Peace Rhode Island.

The event began with speeches on the State House steps, followed by a march and rally in the streets.

“Jack Reed is not listening. Sheldon Whitehouse is not listening. Seth Magaziner is not listening. Gabe Amo is not listening,” Organizer Reem Said-Awad said. “We are not going to stop. Rhode Islanders make over 1,100 calls everyday, and we are going to make them hear us.”

Multiple demonstrations and rallies have been held throughout the state since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023.
