BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — Living history museum Coggeshall Farm hosted one of its Maple Sugaring Days on Sunday.

The day included demonstrations of the maple sugaring process, including carving spiles, collecting sap, and sugaring down the sap to remove the water.

It also offered learning opportunities for the processes’ historical connections to land usage, trade, and early abolitionist movements.

“They’ve been doing it for years, its 50 years we celebrated last year,” Executive Director Shelli Costa said.

The day also featured activities including scavenger hunts, maple crafts, and games.

Maple Sugaring Days will also be held on March 2 and March 3.
