PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority will begin phase one of its construction of a new transit center in Providence.

This is part of a public-private partnership between RIPTA and Next Wave Rhode Island Partners.

The 195 Commission will consider an agreement with RIPTA over a possible location for the transit center, and Clifford Street is the location being discussed.

RIPTA will also be conducting assessments, hearing from the public and making conceptual designs.
