Update: Providence woman dies in early morning Exeter crash

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island state police responded early Monday morning to a multi-vehicle crash on Route 95 North, just south of Exit 9 in Exeter.

The investigation into the 4:56 a.m. crash revealed that a tractor-trailer traveling in the middle lane of route-95 was struck in the rear by a Subaru Outback.

The crash disabled the Subaru, leaving it partially in the left lane.

A third vehicle traveling in the left lane struck the Subaru.

The passenger of the Subaru, Karen Paredes-Ramos, 20, of Providence, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Three other occupants of the Subaru were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer and the third vehicle were uninjured.

The crash will remain under investigation.
