LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman was injured and three families displaced after a fire at a multi-family home in Lincoln on Monday afternoon.

The Red Cross said it was helping five adults and one child after the blaze on Bouvier Avenue in the Manville section of Lincoln.

Manville Fire Chief Robert Bradley said a woman suffered a leg injury after jumping from a third floor window and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Bradley said nothing but black smoke was visible when crews arrived just after 2:15 p.m., adding that a “fire ball” enveloped the second and third floors.
