Wet & Windy Wednesday

Stormy weather is here through today with an additional inch of rainfall and winds gusting greater than 45 mph. With the rain and wind comes lowed visibility and there is even patchy fog in play to boot. The result will be a slick commute with widespread ponding on the roads that could lead to hydroplaning. With expected wind gusts of 40-50 mph, unsecured objects could be lofted and trach cans may wander in addition to downed tree limbs and some power outages. As a result, a Wind Advisory is in effect through Thursday morning at 7am. Tonight we will see the last of the precipitation move through with a strong cold front. Temperatures on the back of this front will be dropping from the 50s into the 20s. We will see the heavy rain finish out as a brief period of snow. No accumulation is expected but we could see a flash freeze of wet and untreated surfaces. Sunshine returns for Thursday and Friday, but temperatures will be cold, topping out in the 30s to near 40. The 50s return just in time for the upcoming weekend.
