Pawtucket high school student faces a judge in connection with school incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A tense situation at Shea High School in Pawtucket Thursday led to a police presence, total school lockdown and early dismissal for students.

Nakai Jackson, 18, a Shea student, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident and faced a judge Friday.

His bail was set at $3,500 with surety and the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

It all started around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when a school resource officer was notified that Jackson was making threats and may have been in possession of a firearm.

No weapon was found by the Pawtucket Police Department after an extensive search.

Jackson was issued a no trespass order at Shea High School, banning him from the grounds for any reason.

Jackson is also barred from possessing firearms.

A school spokesperson told ABC6 that there was no harm done to students, faculty or staff and Jackson is set to appear in court again on March 20.
