Clouds and Rain Return

A recap of Sunday shows a pretty eventful weather day full of sunshine. First of all, There are Flood Warnings posted for the Wood River in Hope Valley and the Pawcatuck River in Westerly respectively. The Wood River is in minor flood and at this stage typically renders Wood River Drive and Wood Circle in Richmond impassable. In Hopkinton, minor flooding of the Wood River floods Dow Park off Main Street. It is expected to drop back below flood stage Monday afternoon. Meanwhile the Pawcatuck River is also in minor flood and usually floods the lowest areas of French Village along route 3 in Hopkinton. This river is expected to return below flood stage Tuesday morning. Temperature-wise we tied the record high for today, topping out at 63 degrees this afternoon! The previous record also of 63 was set in 1991. Looking ahead to tomorrow, clouds return to Southern New England as do temps in the 40s. The rain showers return Tuesday afternoon. Midweek will see a warm front with clouds, showers and warm temperatures topping out near 60. A cold front follows for Wednesday night with even more rain and a drop in temperatures for the remainder of the week.
